Sarah

Sarah had asked on a few occasions...was she a Christian...and could she be saved?  So I went to our pastor and he said he would talk to her.  So one day they went off...hand in hand...into the fellowship hall to discuss it...it was so sweet that he took the time to talk with her about it...in just a little while here  they come...swingin hands...back out of the fellowship hall...just a grinnin I might add...and Brother Rogers said..."she's ready".  She understood everything he asked her about salvation and Jesus.  So when he gave the alter call at the end of the service she took my hand and said..."go with me mom"...and Bro. Rogers was crying like a baby...we three knelt at the alter and she accepted salvation.  Wasn't a dry eye in the house...everybody was in tears.  We had to work on the day of her baptism cause    when we announced it some of the people said..."Oh no...not that Sunday...I have to be so and so place else and I don't wanna miss it"...so we had to reschedule so everyone could be there.  When the   day came...Sarah was so excited.  She took Bro. Rogers by one hand...and her Papaw by the other hand and  down into the water they went.  Just imagine how my daddy felt being able to help in his granddaughter's baptism!!  She was waist high in the water and dad and Bro. Rogers wasn't even knee deep.  Bro. Rogers said a prayer in the name of the Father, Son and Holy ghost, she closed her eyes, held her breath...and under she went...she came up smiling and giggling (like a 6 yr old) and all of us on  shore were crying and clapping our hands.  It was a most wonderful day.
